I probably have about 100.
I love chickens!
I have D;Uccles, Ameraucanas, Rocks, Orpingtons (though I've lost about ten, mostly Orps, to a predator and haven't counted since then), Silkies, and Spitz. Each breed kind of requires that you have at least 6-8 hens at least and two roosters in case one dies.
My biggest flocks are the Rocks (White and SPR) and Ameraucanas (Lavender and Black). Just counting them, I have 18 Lavenders, 5 Blacks, and two White Rocks and about 20 SPRs (hard to count when they're milling together).
I ordered some Silkies for hatching and raising chicks and I have to get rid of the males which I haven't done yet. I would guess I have about thirteen males to take to market and about fourteen pullets.
Then I have about 15 D'Uccles (of which 3 are cross breds), 6 Orps left, and 9 Spitz and Spitz cross.
Unfortunately, since the predator grab two nights a few weeks ago, I moved them all out in a few outside pens, and they're too crowded. But they're safe,. I haven't seen the predator again (or tracks) so I might put them back. I bought the predator eyes which now is automatic and solar, so it might keep the predators away.
I'm scared to put them back. The carnage was awful!
