Lucky 13, five older girls and 8 pullets.

Would like to get maybe 3 more, EEs or something similar color layers.

Hoping new neighbor wants chicks so can share an order :fl , haha haven't even met new neighbor and already pushing chicks on them. 😜
That’s the spirit!!!!!🤣🤣🤣

I was going to downsize over the winter to "just" 24 (20 hens). Didn't happen. It's a distinct hazzard of breeding for good behavior in my boys. They're all so nice, I can't decide!
What breed are they? I have the same problem when I hatch. My Nankins are so sweet-tempered that I inevitably end up with a "Bachelor Pad" coop every so often. And for the record, a Boys-Only flock is by far my favorite kind of flock. If the frat-boy antics aren't entertainment enough for me, the eye-candy seals the deal!

The base is JG x RIR, with Marans, BA, Buckeye and Ranger. New boys are Kraienkoppe and a Dorking-Sussex cross.

I just gave some eggs to a broody that should be JG x RIR x (Kraienkoppe, American Game, or the Dorking-Sussex).

Ok, I lied. 18 chicks to add to the 26 or 47 or 32 chickens outside.

Had 41 in the spring, 4 roosters, 37 hens.

Then 3 Juvenile Bald Eagles, one Red Fox and a stray mutt decided to take up residency. The Eagles are still around but the Crows are aggravating them. Haven't seen the Fox in awhile and the mutt was dispatched.

Now I have 4 roosters, 25 hens and 12 eggs incubating.

What is the breed of the brown one on the left? I never saw a full brown- like light but rich chocolate color. Closest I have seen is my Hazel- which is a really dark/thick streak of dark brown- but not chocolate ;lab colour (Cream legbar).

Also: the one next to it looks bloody.

I’m honestly not quite sure. It could be the Belgium Liege or the Ayam Ketawa. This really was a mixed bag.

They mostly hatched this morning and was moving them to the brooder outside, so there are hatching goobers stuck on a few.
