I have 5 a COPPER BLACK (poppy) a COLUMBINE(amber) a BLUEBELL (bluebell) SPECKELDY (dotty) and a LIGHT SUSSEX (snow drop) would love to make it up to 8 but space may be a problem, didnt know i could love chickens this much

I started out with six last year - a Partridge Cochin rooster and 5 hens - a Delaware, Easter Egger, New Hampshire Red, White New Jersey Giant, and a Cuckoo Maran. I lost my Delaware last fall to ? just found keeled over - she had been setting on eggs for 20 days. I lost my Easter Egger to a racoon when she strayed too far in the woods this past winter.

In May I added Pullets started by a neighbor for me. I ended up with two roosters - an Easter Egger and a Salmon Favorelle. The Salmon Favorelle gets along well with my Cochin rooster so he is staying. "Butthead" the Easter Egger roo is now residing next door with the neighbor's hens. I added five hen pullets - a black New Jersey Giant, two Welsummmers, and three Easter Eggers.

I had never had chickens before last year. I love how they "talk" to you and follow you around. One of the new Easter Eggers runs up to me when I am outside and chatters away. My Cuckoo Maran will chatter away as well when I am around her. My favorite part is all the different breeds - it's like having a rainbow of chickens - and finding eggs every day.

I bought a dozen 'pullets' from my local ag store and got them as balls of fluff in mid April. They are now quite respectable looking chickens and of my 'pullets' has lovely curved tail feathers and crows quite well. Thank goodness he's a very friendly dude.

i have 26 even. 13 are Rhode Island Reds, 5 are Brahma bantams, and 7 silkies/showgirls. hahaa we have many differnt breeds

14 silver laced wyandottes, 14 cuckoo marans, 2 white leghorns, 5 plymouth rocks (4 barred and a white), 2 white silkies, 3 black bantam cochins, 3 australorps, 1 New hampshire red and a delaware pullet. So 45 chickens and Four campbell ducks and 6 geese ( 2 chinese white and 4 toulouse).

Quite a few Seramas (only 1 roo), 1 BLR Wyandotte bantam hen, 1 golden Sebright hen, 1 Old English bantam hen, a really old Easter Egger hen and a light Brahma hen... not too many chickens, I'm mostly into the alternate barnyard poulty. If you took a poll on them I'd probably have around 60!

8 chickens! 5 hens and 3 cocks :) gonna be buying more hens once I can build separate Rooster cages. One of them can be quite aggressive and I would rather not have to worry about unplanned chickies ;)
