It's Penny Lane & The Hateful 8's first winter. Mealworms in the morning is standard, but I've been throwing out 6 Way Scratch from Tucker Milling about half hour before sunset. I read they will stay warmer digesting scratch close to dark and cooping up so I'm giving it a shot.
When they were smaller I was giving them the wetted food but they kept plugging up their beak blow holes with it. I kept making it more shallow but it kept happening. I've shied away from it. I may try it again now that they've matured to laying. Beaks are longer.

They also love raw eggs, bugs, mice, lizards, dead bodies and dog poop. I just don't see the point of cooking for a scavenger. It's like cooking for a vulture
One of my chickens favorite things was dog toenail clippings🤦‍♀️ she’d come running anytime I sat down with the dog and clippers. It was nice because I never had to clean them up!
