Just out of curiosity, why did people talk you out of goats? I’ve heard they can be trouble making escape artists but is there more to it?
That was the main reason, and because they jump on everything. But I will say, my sheep jump on our propane tank, which I didn’t think they would do! I imagine when they are full grown they won’t be able to do that but I could be wrong. I think sheep will also sell better in my area. Everyone has goats!!

I have Katahdin sheep. I'll see if I can get some pics of them tomorrow! Do you raise wool or meat sheep? Ours are mostly lawnmowers but we also do meat.
I have katahdin mixes, they're my pets and lawnmowers, I would never eat them. I posted about them earlier in this thread:
Katahdin hair sheep mixes. They shed their hair too. I have 18 of them, 17 of them are lambs, 2 of the 17 are rams and I plan to breed and sell them next year.

Along with 31 chickens (planning to add more), we have 2 Dogs (Pyrenees/Anatolian & Anatolian/Caucasian which have both turned out to be chicken killers 😩 so we are working on separation), 2 cats, and we added four sheep this year! One which will be leaving as soon as breeding season is over because he isn’t nice! Haha I’ve already been knocked on my rear. Oh and four kiddos!

I have a great pyrenees/anatolian shepherd mix too! And sheep! What type of sheep do you have?

That makes a lot of sense!!! Goats seem like more fun to me with their personalities but also more trouble haha

I don't keep any of them (not on the list) But having any of these... of course we all do have at least a few.
  1. But in winter I often have mice in our bicycle and gardening shed.
  2. There are always insects 🕷 in the house who take care for themselves until the vacuum cleaner sees them. Many outside insects are eaten by the chickens .
  3. Same with salamanders and frogs . They are eaten by the chickens too.
  4. Sadly enough they don't eat big snails.

  5. We have neighbour cats in our garden every day. And sometimes in the run too.
  6. And many Wild birds.
  7. The children take care for themselves now but the still like to come around to be pampered as if they were pets. ;) :celebrate
