My cluckers are a welcome and very productive distraction from life's stresses. I breed them, hatch them, raise them, sell them, eat them and their eggs, compost their poo, love on them, watch their antics and generally enjoy them. They are my favorite livestock/pets to raise.

For the past 2 hours I've been sitting in the pen reading while my chicks enjoy the outdoors. It's a great way to relax after a long and stressful shift at work.

I love hatching eggs and I also love trying to breed different breeds and make cool colors!! They are companions and they definitely distract me from how hard this world is to live in. They are also fun to watch!

I picked more than one but one of them is other because I also enjoy rescueing/taking them in like a friend of my sister is moving out of state and doesn't want to upheave her hens way out of their element she's moving to Alaska so she is bringing me her hens and I will integrate them into my main coop to live out the rest of there lives

Lots of reasons why I have chickens, but the main one isn’t on the list - nostalgia. My favorite aspect of keeping chickens is how they transport me back to a happy time and place, to a wonderful childhood I am now trying to recreate for my own kids. Chickens were a big part of that. A small sampling of farm life in the city.
