Wow thats a lot of snow

That storm was probably the biggest we've had. Took a couple of days to get dug out. The ladies lived in my basement for 3 days.

This is the 2nd coop built last year. Not a lot of snow, I know, but let me tell ya, we've had 40-50mph wind, so it is bone chilling cold!
My coop is insulated & with about 6 inches of cushy wood chip bedding, & just the body heat of the flock, the coop stayed nice, their waterers didn't even freeze! So this winter we've been in the 20s or teens at night, yet no frozen water. Pretty amazing!

OMG. My chickens would think that they'd died & gone to heaven in that setup! Gorgeous.

That is the new record holder. 41" fell in about 16 hours. We were stranded on the hill for 3 days before the plows came by to do the roads.

That doesn’t sound so bad!! What do you use to cover your run?

Eine Woche Schnee!

Last night and today we have a snow storm. This morning 20cm snow (really much over here). Unfortunately not because the climate change is in reverse, but because it got unexceptional warm at the North Pole. And a cold wind is visiting us as a result.

We have 9º F. (-12º C) this morning. I am so glad there is no snow and that I can’t post another entry to this contest! But my coops and chickens are sure chilly! I’m tempted to bring my little Sebright hen indoors.....

I definitely couldn't take pics today even if I wanted to. Winter has finally arrived. -29°C here with a windchill of -42°C (-20°F - -43°F). My phone would shatter in those temps.
