Ended Official BYC Winter Contest Series—Winter on the Farm Photo Contest

Pics
Hi yall from north texas. Didnt expect to enter this contest after a mild warm winter. But last week, after All-Time Ever record cold temperatures, and rolling blackouts for 3 days straight (inside house temp dropped to 36 degrees at one point), got a few pictures. Not many pics though, because only a few chickens, out of a flock of 150, dared to venture our of their covered coop and run. Been 10 years or so since any significant snowfall here, so none of my chickens have ever seen more thsn a dusting of snow. Here is entry #1. Layla the olive egger. Perched on a concrete hen statue, comtemplating the end of her world as she knew it.

@Allsfairinloveandbugs your 💝Layla is priceless!
Not entries:
just sharing some scenery because I'm in Texas where it rarely snows! We were lucky, we had the ice and snow, as well as freezing temperatures but we didn't lose power or water.
My girls & guys wouldn't even come out of their coops the 1st day, 2nd and 3rd day they came out into the runs. On the 4th day they were sick of each other and ventured out.

Yesterday we hit 78f! Lol. God bless Texas.

Ok, so maybe that wasn't my final entry. Please disregard my first entry, #292. I like this picture of my crested silver Swedish, Mayo, better. She was just feeling good after her bath but she looks like she is conducting an orchestra. I won't change any others, the snow is melting and will be gone by tomorrow, so my winter pictures are done.

Omg! That is a fabulous photograph!

Your rooster is gorgeous!
thank you! I didn't even want a rooster: this is my first flock and I thought it would be easier without one, but then someone told me of some unplanned cockerels searching for a new home and I adopted him. now I'm so happy with him! he is still very young, I hope he'll remain as sweet as he is now 🤞
