Welcome to the Official BYC Winter Contest Series
Winter on the Farm Photo Contest

We want to see your fabulous winter photos! The rules are simple: feature any poultry in your photo. Additional animals are allowed, but the poultry must be the star! No humans, please. If we get enough additional poultry photos, we will have a set of winners for chicken photos and a set of winners for other poultry. Get those geese a' primping and those cameras snapping!

Entering is easy, just post your pictures in this thread!

The rules:

1. All entries must be submitted/posted to this thread.
2. Three entries per member (an entry is one picture)
3. One entry & picture per post.
4. All domestic poultry allowed (chickens, waterfowl, turkeys, peafowl, quail, pheasants, guinea fowl, etc.)
5. No people allowed in the photo.
6. The picture needs to have been taken by you.
7. No overly-edited images—basic editing such as cropping and other subtle changes are allowed.
8. No watermarks, date stamps, text, etc. on the picture.
9. Extra consideration for picture quality and creativity!
10. ALL pictures MUST be uploaded to BYC and not hosted on other image sites, personal websites, etc.
11. Open to all BYC members. Staff & VPMs may enter for fun but are not eligible for prizes.
12. Prizes are limited to one per person per contest.
13. All BYC rules apply: Terms of Service (Rules)
14. Entries will be accepted until February 28th, 2021 at 11:59 PM Pacific Time.

There will be 5 individual winners and each will receive a copy of the beautiful BYC 2021 Calendar!​

The calendar is available to winners that reside in the United States. If the winners are outside of the United States, they will be awarded a 1-month PFM instead.

We had a huge snow storm a mont ago here in New York City. It was my babies first snow and they didn’t like. I had to make a path for them to walk because they really didn’t want to step on the snow. It was also challenging as their water was all frozen and covered in snow, and the dust bath was all
Covered as well (they started bathing in the poop board that has sweet PDZ ). So now I’m prepared and have a system ready in case it snows again. I have a big plastic container with soil in the basement ready to take out if needed to serve as dust bath.

Here’s a photo of Emma, my blue Cochin pullet, experiencing snow for the first time this winter (it’s been so mild that we didn’t get a good storm until after New Years).
