Congrats everyone on your babies and pips!

I have 6 out and pips in 9. 1 of those 9 just needs to pop the top off.

I do have 1 that doesn't seem to be making much progress. It was the first to pip Tuesday night and just has a small hole. I can see it moving but it is not zipping. My humidity is nice and high around 70%. Should I help at all or give it some more time? Everyone elses seems to be coming along nicely. I will say that the Buff Orpington's are very slow hatchers but the Ameraucana's just pip, zip, and pop out. I will post pics shortly.

I have 5 PIPS plus one out. The one that has hatched pipped last night and zipped fast this morning! He is BB x Dark cornish. Its going to be realllly hard not to take them out until the hatch is complete! Here he is with more on the way!

I am REALLY nervous now. Late last night I put my 28 eggs into lock down. All in cartons with sides/bottoms cut out for circulation. I have been doing a dry hatch so far so my humidity was hangin out in the 20s most times. So...I loaded with sponges and my humidity rockets to over 80%. I start freaking out and make the decision to pull them all out and just leave a little water in the wells. Oh yeah, it was thunderstorming too.
This morning it is back to 30% so I cut a couple smaller squares out of the sponges, load them with hot water and did a quick slip in from the side.

That was about 15 minutes ago and it is reading 54%.

I/they have been doing super so far and I really just dont want to fail!!!!!
Anyone else awake out there that has experience with the LG? I have left the 2 red plugs out until now. I plugged them up when I just added the sponges to boost the humidity. Do you guys plug them up or leave them out? ( Still Air) Sorry for being needy this morning.

I have to drop out of this thread, it's breaking my heart...

Am trying to be thrilled for everyone but end up just feeling sorry for myself (aka giant failure).

Hopefully in the spring a 2nd attempt will have better results.

Corny chick, I am having the same difficulty... I couldnt break 55 and then I added a wet sock and it's still only at 57. I cannot seem to get it up. :-( I really am scared because there is no signs of anything... I also put one red plug in to see if it helps but that was yesterday and so far nothing really. I am thinking about plugging the other one at least until one hatches and raises the humidity a bit more....
I am so bummed right now because like you I don't want to fail after having SUCH good things up until now! I am out of sponge and I really have no more room to put anything that I would be able to reach to add more water and the chicks will have nowhere to go to dry off...
