I had no idea! Thanks Poppy! Thats really neat!
of course! Its super useful because instead of throwing it out it works as perfect compost for a plant, or even your chicken if you feel like they should have it. just crush it up and sprinkle it in the dirt of your plant

the easiest plants ive EVER grown is Sage and Goji berries. They stay sooooo long to.

the sage lasted for id say 3 years with NO death. no watering, litterally NOTHING. it just survived forever with no effort and still tasted and smelt amazing! (Yes, went threw winter to!) soso recommend sage.

we watered it for like the first year and just stopped and it still survived. Of course it rained, but my point is is we didnt go out there with a watering can and water it, it just survived itself.

gohji berries my chickens love love love. i often dry them or swallow them whole, because biting into them raw is quite bitter. they hang and grow upsidedown so wild birds often wont grab them and rabbits cant reach them! Perfect plant
Interesting! I’ve never heard of Goji berries (or I’ve heard of them, but never considered growing them)

You definitely should, its a perfect plant. And im not even being dramatic ONE bit.

they grow once a day! I got 5 goji berries or so from 1 plant a day. you wouldnt see them and then the next day boom 5 bright red goji berries appeared from no where!
Woah! What do you do with them? (I think you just said that but I can’t remember now) Can you use them to make preserves/jam?

You can 100%

i feed them to my chickens, dry them for myself as a snack or to put in warm tea *its called balloon tea when you do that* or swallow them whole. *biting them when their fresh off the tree is way to bitter*

Very cool, thanks for sharing! Rareseeds.com has some but I’m not sure if I will order this year.

I am no expert, but they look to be some sort of grass maybe? You said you found them in your chicken food, right?
Parakeet food.
I hope it is cool, I’ve never tried growing it before. I ordered from rareseeds.com, so that might be why you’ve never heard of it before. It is supposed to be a bush variety of spaghetti squash. I’ve never managed to grow spaghetti squash successfully, but it’s worth a try!

Here's two closer up ones. One has an easily visible seed. The other is one that popped up overnight.

Hmm, I have no idea. I guess they will have to keep growing so we can find out! I still think my vote would be on some kind of grass/millet though, since they are so big you think they would have put out some cotyledons by now.

Not sure what a cotyledon is. I know I have one of the black oil sunflower seeds growing but that's the only one I know what it is.
