Miss Prissy, Thank you! I just went out to meet the post man...and I have 12 new eggies to put in the bator! I'll candle them tonight before setting them, just to make sure there aren't any little cracks I can't see....but they look wonderful! Thank you!


To keep my mind off of the babies, I'm setting up my brooder.

I'm sooo thrilled right now.

I've been playing youtube clips of chicks cheeping to my eggs...they 2 that are pipped get more active when they hear the cheeping!

djackjr...thanks! I'd originally planned on buying chicks also....but we homeschool and I couldn't pass up the educational opportunity!



So I have a question all...my first egg pipped this morning. It's a small pip, I'm not even sure if it made it through the membrane. Anyhow, it hasn't progressed at all. Is that normal? The second one has already had a little piece of shell fall off. It rests for a little while and then pushes a little more. I hear peeping, but I don't know if any of it is from the first one or not. When is it time to worry? We weren't even due to hatch yet, but is the baby at risk once it starts to pip?
