Oh boy, new chicks hatching from the chicken coop, 1st time parents!

I have a bantam brooding also. today is about day 8, she is on 4 real eggs and one plastic that she will not let me get to.
my question is, she is in a nest box on the wall, should I move her and eggs to a brooder before hatch or just let her be and collect them all after hatch?

I haven't been able to get pics yet, I hope to do that when I get home today or at the latest this weekend. To answer your question, I wasn't about to get under her and move her or the eggs or the chicks when they hatched. She is an evil bird and I think she would peck my eyes out if she could. So unfortunatly her and the eggs where on the top shelf of the coop. After they the first two had hatched I went to check on them and thats when I found the black one missing and mamma and two chicks on the floor. Did she carry them down there?!?! Do they do that? or did they fall

I have no idea, I just can't imagine them surviving a fall like that. So in the future I know that I will be moving prospective mamma and the eggs into they're own pin/area. I ended up seperating these chicks from mamma. But letting nature take care of it appeals to me alot more. They've been making chickens long before we ever thought of spending all that money on gadgets to do the same thing. It was such a wonderful experience.
