I know everyone is crazy busy and I’m behind trying to catch up, but while I do... What are the oldest chicken eggs you’ve tried to hatch or have hatched? I’m going to pick up rainbow hatching eggs from one of my friends that are two weeks late. They were sent out the day they were laid. Is there any reason to try them? Are there health issues associated with hatching old eggs. Help. I’m torn.

There’s a few other similar threads too so not sure that’s the best one but yeah haha I say it would be worth the experiment at least even if they don’t hatch! Which they might or might not. I can’t seem to find anything on associated health issues but I know the viability typically goes down the older they are about 2 weeks seems to right about the limit so they might be okay. People say refrigerated eggs can’t hatch either and lots of people have had success with those even ones from the store so I think it would be worth the experiment even if they don’t hatch! You might at least get some out of it.

I have hatched a 16 day old egg as an experiment. Oldest I've ever done. An American grey gamefowl chick
