YES!!! middle ds already has the foundation and getting the mattress this year....oldest ds has had his for a few years and mini has had his for a year! we had ours for 2+ years

I have slept on soft down pillows, and on basic mattresses. I've also slept in a reclined beach chair (underneath a tower so as to not get scorched by the sun) and on acorn-cap-littered dirt/grass.
All were pretty darned comfortable... you just need to get into the right position....
