Well I didn't make what I posted a picture of but for the one I created I just let it sit on the ground. Some feed gets kicked out but it's kind of minor. If I were to attach it so mine could hang I don't know how I'd go about it, I'd have to think about it. Maybe hang it from the tray instead of the bucket. My bucket is not attached to the pan and it can be helpful when cleaning it during the muddy months.
 
I love when I post ad on craigslist for "cockerels(young roosters) looking for new home" and people email me asking if they're laying yet, it's the best.

I have made feeders like these. I attach the buckets to the bottoms with 3 or 4 short bolts and nuts, then I can hang them.
