Oh Craigslist, You Amuse Me So!

IMHO, your consertiveness is correct pretty much lol The duck dynasty guys sure do shop for their food...media catches them regularly shopping and eating out, their not usually dining on squirrels unless mama makes somethin special for the show lol
not too long ago all were clean cut, suberbanites, golfing at resorts, vacationing on beaches...frosting the tips of their hair...short hair no beards, wearing suits, slacks & button up shirts.

It's cool, but was all initially staged. I still don't get the hoopla surrounding them. They had millions, now have more millions lol we should support a Louisiana family really living a true life as they represent

Amen.

(But, forgive me, oh I just cant resist the show.. I watch every single episode produced...)

Duck Dynasty is a good show, nice to have something on that the whole family can watch, who cares if they didn't always have a beard or they shop at the store sometimes.

I find the kind of discussions interesting that come out of a simple post like this about a Craigslist add haha; you got 595 pages of replies.

I just took a look and I see a discussion going on about duck dynasty. I barely watch tv, but just like almost all "reality" shows, it's obvious that duck dynasty is heavily staged. First of all there's no way just 5 guys or whatever can produce all these duck calls for a leading brand, especially with all the slacking off. While I do believe they're rednecks, it's obvious that they exaggerate a lot in this show. Think about it, duck commander is a multimillion dollar business, do you really think these guys are just a bunch of dumb rednecks? No, these guys are definitely different when they're off camera. It's just like other "reality" shows like lizerlick towing; there are always fights and people bring out guns and stuff, you really think police wouldn't be involved and that they would put it on tv if it was real?

Sorry for my rant of the day, I could go on and on about why I don't watch tv, but my open and critic mind are definitely part of the reason why. When I actually do watch tv I always notice the flaws in the shows; I'm the kind of guy who will sit there and point out all the unrealistic parts of a movie

I'm the same way but in the end, their show is just too funny. But, yeah, you are so right. Good points, there!

I have never watched the show. Not big in to network TV. I do know that quite a few of my craziest redneck friends have IQs well above 130. They run businesses an trade stock but when they are not working they are in the woods literally driving trucks up trees. When the sun goes down they sit around the fire eating squirrel an talk about economics, free trade an philosophy.

I my self remember sitting in college classes (in Chattanooga) with mud up to my knees from being in the woods the whole night before. Driving strait out of the mountains in time for class. I also remember being made sweep the floor after class. Going strait back to the woods after that. Its just the culture I grew up in. The city boys I went college with though I was crazy though. I could hang out with them an do the college thing but my truck an the mountains would be calling me.

They are real. But if you think about where they live it is no surprise they think the way they do.

Is the Robertson clan genuine, or are they really just Westboro Baptist Church with beards?
Anyone care to point out when they ever were quoted as hating gays? The one I read stated he though it was a sin but was not his place to judge. He was asked a pointed direct question an he responded with a quote from the bible. An unless I missed it they have never tried to force their opinion on anyone else. But I dont keep up with them, never watched the show an dont usually even watch the news. I do know the gay people I know were on facebook standing up for the Robertsons last time I heard anything about that issue..
