Oh Craigslist, You Amuse Me So!

when I googled it, it said it was a spelling and pronunctiation problem....K-mart will come up on ANY mechandise search..weather they carry the item or not....same for Wal Mart. Each item that came up on "Chester Draws" search had the correction to "chest of Drawers" or "AKA Chest of Drawers"....
If you google Chester Drawers it will pull up the correct item. It is so commonly called that that google knows what it is. It pulls up items called drawer chest, chest of drawers an dressers. Same if you go to walmarts site or others. Its common enough that they know what it is. Of course stores would not call it a slang term, no matter how common. The point is it is typed in to google so much that it is a known term.

I have actually never heard anyone other than on TV say chest of drawers. You would probably get some funny looks here if you said it that way here. Probably the same look you would get if you asked for a soda or a pop or if you asked to use the loo.

There was a paper wrote on how many words are used to describe that one item. It was done by Allison Burkette of the University of Georgia. She actually named the paper "The Story of Chesters Drawers" even though only one of the 60 Atlanta students she questioned actually wrote down the words "Chester Drawers" but she pointed out that it is a common pronunciation of "chest of drawers"

We tried to get our money back but couldn't.

Wow, you really need to switch banks, honestly... Over the years we have had fraudulent credit card transactions, and fraudulent transfers from our bank accounts and we have never ever had a problem getting the money returned by the bank... In fact in almost all cases they 'temporarily' refund all if not a large portion of it instantly and then make it permanent after we fax/mail back their signed affidavit stating it was fraudulent... This actually happens to me quite often as I purchase a lot of things overseas (Asia) for business... I now do it all with a dedicated account and credit card as it never fails about every 2 years that credit card ends up being compromised and used fraudulently... Last time was two round trip first class tickets from the Philippines to Thailand, caught that one within minutes as I get notified by email for every transaction, and I got a good chuckle from the banks customer service rep when they asked "Are you positive you didn't just purchase those tickets?"

my dads side of the family refers to all soft drinks as cokes. they will ask "do you want a coke?" you say "sure" than they ask "what kind?". they are all from west virginia. Here in sw missouri they say pop and somewhere along the road I started to call it soda contrary to the rest of my family.
