Oh Craigslist, You Amuse Me So!

They also misspelled "Limousin" (a breed of cattle), "heifer," and "purchase."

How can someone misspell so many words on such a short ad?

I actually have a Craigslist question. I answered an add for a free treadmill a week ago. Got an email back saying to go through CL phone verification and she'd give me her addy to pick it up. So I did that but instead of entering the code, I entered the phone number from the text. (First time I've ever done that.) Anyway, it wouldn't let me re-enter anything. Later, I tried to redo it and it sent me another text but with a different email address attached to it. Is this a scam? I didn't ever enter the code cause I thought it was weird but having never dealt with this phone verification thing I don't know what is right. I thought it odd they took so long to get ahold of me. And you sure can't talk to anyone about it! I think its totally run by robots! Lol! Anyway, a little help here? What do you think happened and what should I do?

I wouldn't keep a horse that bit INTENTIONALLY, but my nephew was bit by a friend's Arabian yearling while he was feeding her some handfuls of grass. She was the sweetest horse, though, and it wasn't intentional.

That sounds like a scam, walk away!

x2

You only do the phone verification thing to set up an account to post an ad.

I've heard other people say these are email phishing scams, you do the phone verification and they get your info and start spamming you.

I've used craigslist a lot to buy/sell/give away things, and have never done any phone verification for any reason.
