We purchased a mower that has a nest of baby field mice in it. The Mom skipped the ride. I don't want to destroy them. If anyone has a milking mouse, and would be interested in these , please let me know. I won't give them for snake food. I don't know how long they will live without the mom. Thanks

not funny but...

LOST PAIR OF EMUS!!! REWARD!!! Irene and Emmett are our very special, very, very large pet birds. They eloped from our yard sometime today (Wed 5/25). We live on the southeast side of Carson near Prison Hill. Major cross streets of Clearview, Gentry, Edmonds and Snyder. These birds are non-aggressive by nature, but their legs are very powerful. They are flightless, but they can run up to 30mph.

IF YOU SPOT THEM. . . PLEASE DO NOT ATTEMPT TO CAPTURE THEM! Call us and we will immediately respond to safely bring them home! Trying to catch them can cause injury to both you and the bird if not done correctly. If necessary, please call animal control.

Please call Lisa or Jeannette at 841-7100. We miss our birds deeply. Help us bring them home safely by calling us if you see them. Thank you so much.

I had a city-girl (no offense... just listen to my story please.

.) friend who went to the rodeo with me. She was a grown woman. She told me *out loud mind you*, she didn't realize that horses could move their tails!

I wouldn't keep a horse that bit INTENTIONALLY, but my nephew was bit by a friend's Arabian yearling while he was feeding her some handfuls of grass. She was the sweetest horse, though, and it wasn't intentional.

Oh man, a biter is what got me over being "too" gentle with horses. I was on the equestrian team in college, and one of the horses was a biter. My trainer told me to teach him who's boss, my mom (who used to train green horses) told me to sock him in the nose. So I did. My trainer told me later that she kept giving me him on purpose b/c I was too "nice" and "gentle" with the horses. I had some nasty bruises, just glad he never broke the skin. Oh, he was also a leaner. When you tried to clean his feet, he'd lean on you AND bite you on the butt! After I socked him in the nose a few times, mostly when he was on his way in for a bite, he quit biting me and only leaned, till I shoved him over a few times. He actually went down once. Quit leaning on me, too.

I did exactly this with a biter. The only time he bit was in the evening when I had to blanket him and reached under for the blanket strap. He would bite heck out of my shoulder. I finally got tired of it and KA-POW! Right in the nose! That larned 'im!
