Oh Craigslist, You Amuse Me So!

Home grown eggs have far less cholesterol than store eggs. 1/4 less saturated fat too.

I wasnt aware of that. I know the chickens themselves are that way because of broiler chickens being predispositionedto put on so much fat so quickly. I actually thought the eggs were the same. Just goes to show that if you pay attention, you can learn something everyday.

We have egg facts on our egg page at www.northernwindsranch.com Home grown eggs have more vitamins, antioxidants, less cholesterol and saturated fat!

maybe cheap in your area? But chicks here range from $0.50-$3.00 at the most. Hens are from around $5-$10 depending on the age and breed. Yesterday I saw an ad on CL for Barred Rock hens that were 2 years old for $3 each. The ad has already been taken down or I would post it. I have never spent more than $7 on a laying hen and that was for me EE hens. My RIRs were 1 year old when I bought them and I paid $4 each. My Barred Rocks I raised from chicks-paid $.50 each for them.

Maybe these people are new to the area and do not realize that people want more for their chickens?

take a look at my local:
