I was just coming here to post about the rosters...

Did you see this one?

Black Copper Maran Hens - $100 (Orrtanna, Pa)

We have Black Copper Maran Hens that are 3 months old. They are non-American blood line. They are the French Wade Jean blood line. They lay the darkest and richest eggs out of the chickens. You cannot by a Black Copper Maran Hen anywhere in the state of Pennsylvania. They will be laying eggs in 2 months. These juvenile chickens are all natural, chemical and hormone free, free range. Hens and roosters are available. Limited availability. The Black Copper Maran Hens and Roosters are $100 each. If you are go to Ebay, you can sell these Black Copper Maran Hatching Eggs for $40 and up. They are a very hot item on Ebay.

It makes me wish that my BC eggs were already hatched, so I could undercut their price and prove that they are indeed for sale in Pennsylvania.

THAT is the farm that I had all my chicks on order from...and then they sent me an email saying they wouldn't sell anything but POL...and the prices went up exponentially. Even if they WERE the only place in town, I'd rather order mail order (something I've tried to avoid) than go with them!

they cancelled your order so they could resell it at a higher price?
well that's just plain rude! not to mention unethical.

beaglady - even if your's aren't hatched you could post your ad... just call it "reserve your chicks now!"
and I'd put in some good stuff about
"don't pay $100 for a single chicken when you could get 2 for that price!" seems a tidy profit could be made, even if you're waaaay under the apparent "going rate".

BTW... what's POL?

Yes, they did. And yes, that's what I said too...

Beaglady, I agree...list them...there are plenty of people who want them!

When craigslist was first started the It was a lofty Ideal between friends. I respect Craig Newmark and what the list was intended to do. Too bad a few bad apples taint the whole basket.
