Well, I was talking to my mother and she guesstimated that it would be about $80 to get a bird done around here. lol I told her we'll have to do my frizzle. lol
EweSheep, I like that idea. I think I will get this done one day, if you'll allow me to steal the idea of the blown eggs and whatnot. What a charming idea for a centerpiece!
I just looked at his other items, and he seems to have trouble identifying chicken breeds. Someone ought to suggest BYC for help in identification before he posts the adds . . . it would be a different, and neat, type of chicken talk to add to BYC.
I guess to each his own---as I cant stand the deer heads and such--but I do have 4 taxidermy chickens...
I got them when I couldnt have the real things at the time--(about 2 yrs ago now....)
They do make a great display--with ceramic eggs, and pretty nesting baskets and such....(with no mess)..LOL!
I do not think I could have my own chickies fixed if something happened to them...but I still enjoy my "inside flock" too!
Personally it makes me wonder ...did she die from natural causes...or was she exterminated for the sake of taxidermy?....either way for me, at least, it's disgusting...but that's my opinon........
MIL used to have a bear skin rug...made out of real bear skin with the head and claws still attached. She loved it but I thought it was disgusting. It used to scare my kids when they were little and of course I had to use that when they were bad. I'd tell them if didn't stop "doing what ever it was they were doing" I was going to make a rug out of them. Of course they knew I wasn't serious but it always got their attention.
