Oh help plz!!!

i have a 5 week old Rouen. I was just outside with them and it had just gotten a drink and then started flopping around. Ended up on its back, legs just kicking. Was just shaking. I tried to turn it over onto it’s feet and it’s head kept trying to fling upside down. I did t know what to do so I just tried massaging it’s neck and stuff as she was laying on the grass. It’s the first and only time I’ve ever seen this. It’s now calm now. Had gotten up and walked over to the other ducks and is standing upright. Hasn’t laid back down. It’s just looking around. Is this wry neck? What should I do? I swear I thought she was gonna die right in front of me. Plz help me.

@CrazyCrttr75 There's something odd that sometimes happens to ducklings if their drinking water is really cold and it sounds similar to what you describe. Going forward, make sure all drinking water is at room temperature before giving it to the ducklings and see if it happens again or not.

Maybe keep a gallon or two in a jug on the counter so it can come up to temp before giving it to the ducklings.

@CrazyCrttr75 There's something odd that sometimes happens to ducklings if their drinking water is really cold and it sounds similar to what you describe. Going forward, make sure all drinking water is at room temperature before giving it to the ducklings and see if it happens again or not.

I had just filled up their waterer with the hose before it happened. I just felt of the water. It doesn’t feel very cold to me but I will definitely keep this in mind from now on. It’s sitting in the sun so it will warm up in no time. She hasn’t tried to get another drink yet. She’s just laying with the rest of the ducklings. I’m gonna stay out here and watch her. It was so scary to watch.

I have seen this happen a few times, and I am not sure what causes it. When mine do this I bring them in and get them warmed up. If they are still alive in 15-20 minutes they should survive.

I was just getting ready to upload a video of her. She seemed to be doing fine. But it just happened again. She tried running with the other ducks that got up fast. Only she went flopping around all over the place and ended up on her back again. I have her next to me now. She’s calm again. Was trembling. I tried to get a video but for some reason my phone crapped out after 2 sec and you can’t see anything. I’ll post the other video and a couple pics of her after this one.

This was after the first one. She seemed to be doing ok. Even saw her take a sip of water.

This was after the 2nd one. She hasn’t laid down to rest. Just stands there. Is a little shaky, not sure if you can tell.
