Oh iam in trouble- gone and done it again

I went by TSC today just to look and ended up with 5 chicks at the whooping price of $1.00 - tax included. That is right - 20 cents per chick. I got 3 australops, 1 that I believe is a Lakenvelder, and 1 Hamberg. All but the Hamberg are about 2 weeks old and are starting to feather out which was the basis for the special price. The sales lady was nice enough to through in the Hamberg at my request and reduce the minimum to 5. This puts be about 7 chickens over my ideal sized flock, but I could not resist at this price. They had about 50 more. I'm trying to figure out how I can justify more. I went by the lumber salvage store on the way home and bought some lumber to make an additional run, but even at salvage prices, the lumber and wire will cost a lot more than the chicks.
On other note - this is the third TSC I have visited in the last 3 days and is the only one that offered a discount on the birds. I think it depends on the local employees and manager.

Also, can anyone tell me what to expect with the Lakenvelder and the Hamberg. They are both new breeds to me. The Hamberg was straight run and I would appreciate input of what to look for concerning gender. Thanks.

People must be all chicked out. I was in Tractor Supply today for feed, and the chicks that were left are getting big. They were $.99 each, and I wasn't even tempted. My wife wasn't too impressed that I had the incubator full of eggs again, then when they hatched today, she saw they were ducks

Hmm, go figure, I thought they were chickens.

I have a silver spangled hamburg. More flighty than the rest of my chickens. I think Izzy is about 3.5-4lbs shes looks have the size of my other hens but I think its how the feathers are on them. Izzy likes to roost higher than any other chicken and she is so fast I cant catch her.... she comes running for treats though

Izzy has her own "talk" I can tell her over the other hens.

Here is Izzy next to my EE

Everyones TSC seems to use Ideal.... why does my TSC (in TENNESSEE) use Townline?
