Joined the YMCA (the only place that offers child care and a good work out around here) with my DH and gee whiz I'm sore from head to toe. It feels good mentally to be exercising again, but my body is not happy about the whole situation.

I've only worked out 2 days, yesterday and today. I did the Nautilus machines yesterday, well almost all of them, I ended up leaving early because it was really crowded and there were a lot of skinny people. Today I used the glider machine and the bike. WOOT! I felt better about going today because I went at a less busy time and my DH was there.

Sooo please wish me luck that I can stick with it! I told DH I wasn't going to have another kid until I got the weight off from the first one. I have weight from being prego with her and well that and from being kidless people who went out to eat ALL the time.

So I am more then ready to get this weight off.

Good luck and try to stick with it. It will get easier. If you have a good workout partner it will help keep you both motivated.

Angie, good for you! It's important to exercise as much as your mind can make you do it. I struggle with staying motivated and right now, average three days a week (half-hour bits to a video before I have to go to work). Anything you do is a plus, remember that! And remember, the best part of exercising is how good you feel after it! (Until you realize you have to do it again a few more times the rest of the week!) Best of luck.

Angie, I wish I lived closer and I could work out with you. I can tell from your comment I ended up leaving early because it was really crowded and there were a lot of skinny people that we would get along just fine. I think all gym's should be divided into two sections, one side for the skinny's and one side for the rest of us normal people. Going to the gym and looking at skinny people with better bodies, clothes, hair, etc.... does not motivate me to exercise... it depresses me and sends me running for the oreos and beer! Well, good luck and stick with it and one day, when I see you coming, I will run screaming for the oreos and beer and it will be a good thing.

PS: No offense to the skinny people out there, I like you just fine. I just don't want to have to look at and compare myself to you when I'm hyperventillating on a Nautilus. It's so embarrassing!

Sherriekim, you're right you and I would get along fantastically.

I did Curves (which I was not one of the heaviest people there) for a while and didn't really see results, I didn't gain anything but I didn't lose anything either. The people were nice enough, but the system really didn't work for me, and neither did their hours. I think the biggest thing was the hassle of trying to find a baby sitter, most of my family lives over an hour away. So unless I wanted to get up at 5am drive over to Curves and be back before DH had to go to work.

I think I am really going to be able to stick with the "Y". It helps that it's almost across the street from my DH's work and he can go with me on his lunch hour. So I'm not alone in my chubbiness.

It was nice to have a date of sorts with my DH without the little monkey girl. Of course DD is having an awesome time being with other kids, she's an only child and we really don't do play dates or anything. She sees other kids and wants to play!

NEAT!
That's a reason that I don't like to go to those places...

They should hang the Oreos over the end of the treadmills to get us going towards something...
