I think DK might be referring to genetically modified crops, which many people suspect to be associated with the hive collapse problem and bee disease.

I agree that people are blindfolded if they don't see that it's all the dang pesticides and herbicides that's killing the bee population.

I feel compelled to point out that genetically modified is not chemically treated. These are two totally different things and most GMOs are engineered with a mind to eliminating chemical treatments of food.

GMOs are just another way to keep our food supply away from where it should be--in our hands--and keep it firmly under the thumb of Big Ag.

In the UK the people said no to GMOs. They won't import anything from us that contains them. I find it hard it believe that we haven't done the same here at home, but I suppose it all stems from the fact that most of us are very disconnected from our food supply.

There's nothing inherently wrong with genetic engineering. As with all technology, of course misuses and unintended consequences are possible, but the potential outweighs the downside. Know anyone who uses insulin? Think vaccinations are a good idea? How about crops grown without pesticides? Would you like to see genetic diseases eliminated? And who wouldn't want a personal army of trained ape/humans?

If you don't like Stevia, find a local source of honey! Even better.
