I have posted a thread on Nature's Hatchery. I had emailed them becuase the topic of drop-shipping had risen. I had also looked at another thread about people emailing Ideal Hatchery to sex bantams. The topic arose and Ideal replied with it was a good idea but the sexer at the hatchery would not allow it. This is what I emailed Nature's Hatchery, and what I got in return!-
Hello,
I have a few questions for you...

1. Do you breed your own chickens/raise your own eggs? The reason I;m wondering is becuase I know a few people that think you are just drop-shippers.

2. I have heard that other hatcheries such as Ideal have been contemplating about offering sexed bantams for higher prices, are you considering sexing your bantams/crested chicken breeds? If you are interested in the people's interest I can get many other chicken raisers to stand beside me in this. I know most people are willing to pay to have one less bantam rooster around the place.

3.What chicken breeds/colors are not listed in your chicken section online? I looked and you don't have Dorkings but you have them under your sold out page.

Thank you

Hello!
We do breed and raise our own birds, but we also have others raise some for us. We have also been considering the bantam sexing for the 2010 hatches.
Also, the dorkings are sold out for the year; the webmaster is working on the site regularly and has just not finished it yet. We appreciate your patience!

Thanks a lot, have a great day!

I have a question... I heard that sexing chicks can hurt them, and cause them to have a shorter life span. I don't really know anything about sexing chicks, but if that's actually true, wouldn't it be even worse for a bantam with them being so small? Enlighten me please

I beleive that sexing chicks doesn't hurt them as long as you sex them properly. What it really is is checking the vent area for "guy" parts. If it lacks the small shiny round ball when the vent is open it is most likely a female, as by nothing can be one hundered percent. There are different ways to sex chicks though. I could tell which of my silkies were male and which ones were female by looking at their features, such as wings. I was shocked it worked though, sadly I was right 2 males and 1 female. Vent Sexing ( the one I told you above) is the most common and precise unless they were bred to be easily sexed. They only need to get the droppings out to see which is which. If you press on them wrong you can damage them, yes.
