So Sorry about your loss. I recently lost one too after trying so hard to help it. It's amazing how fast we bond with them. It's love at first site. They grab our heart.

but there is still the love!!!

I think what bothers me the most is that it could have been totally avoided. It was my fault that they got hurt. If I would have just kept them inside, it wouldn't have happened. I have added chicks to broodies before, with no problems, I guess this hen was just different. This is the first time that she has had chicks, so I'll no better next time. I have some that will take all the babies you want to give them, and some that won't. Thanks everyone.

So sorry Shelley, that is terribly sad. I cry when I loose pets, doesn't matter if they are chickens & chicks, dogs, mini horse? I cry. That is what makes us caring people.
