Oh my! Rooster kills owner!

Being the analytical sort, I feel I have to point out that a freak accident is defined as "occurring under highly unusual and unlikely circumstances".

Roosters attacking people is quite common, and sharp implements nicking arteries happens often enough. Put the two together and I don't think the incident is that weird.

I wonder if every incident was reported, especially from poor countries, how many people are killed by chickens annually? And how many over the history of domestication?
Remember who their distant ancestor was... 🦖

I wonder how often they cause serious injury - guessing it isn't reported as well as other animal injuries like dogs 🤔

I've had bruises before from a dearly departed silkie rooster but can see how in the wrong spot with fragile skin he could have done more damage.

I don't keep rooster but my parents do. They have had them fly at their faces and my mom has sent me pictures of her face bruised and bloody after. I don't think death by rooster is a common thing but I don't see a lot of circumstances where jerk roosters should be tolerated either.
