I might try the Golden Malrin . Is it ok if the chicken eat a dead fly that has eaten it?
Pam
I would not let the chickens eat anything that died from being exposed to the Golden Malrin. If it killed the fly, it worked. If it worked, it's probably still in the fly, in whatever amount, so probably not a good idea for the chicken(s) to ingest that. I don't have any experience to back that up, fortunately, but if there's any question as to "ok" or "not ok", I would err on the side of caution.
From what I understand, Golden Malrin contains methomyl See: http://www.afpmb.org/sites/default/...s/msds/6840-01-183-7244_msds_goldenmalrin.pdf and according to wiki, methmyl is toxic to humans. See: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Methomyl
So always use disposable, plastic/rubber gloves when handling, use disposable plastic containers, don't touch it, don't taste it and don't let anything that you want to keep living do so either.
Thanks Teery.
