Oh no I lost my paper on when these were due to hatch

Oh no! The egg doesn't smell? But I better get them out I don't want it to go off in my incubator. I am so sad

Eggtopsy them, put them into a ziplock back and gently crack them open, it's yucky but it will tell you how far along they got. Shipped eggs can look different than unshipped eggs due to the loose air cells, I hope they are gone if you are pulling them.

I can't bring myself to pull them. I have went and looked in about a dozen times. I would just hate it if I pulled them and they were alive. Okay can I do the water test on eggs this late. If they float they are no good right?

Well I went ahead and did the float test one was really bad so I opened that one and there was nothing in it. The other one floated but not the same way so I pulled it and cracked it open it did have a little chick in it but it was only about a week or two old, if I looked at the pics right. What a sad day :( I know I still have eggs to look forward to but I hate to lose these because they came from Dylansmom.

Just an update on the ones I candled. I know I said I wouldn't mess with them for a week , but 3 days is close right lol. Well they are really close to the air sack so I am thinking sometime this week. They are in a goose auto turner so do you think I should just leave them in a few more days then put them on lockdown or just wait until I hear a chirp. Since they are on their sides anyway just stop the turn that I do?

I guess I'd stop turning once I saw them pushing against the membrane, which for me happens at day 24 or 25 with the peas. Please keep in mind that I have next to zero experience incubating anything, but I have noticed in the hundreds of chicken and duck eggs in nests that hatching usually comes 2-3 days after I notice them pushing on the membrane.

Okay I put them in lockdown I tapped on the egg and heard scratching noises. So this means they are close right? No peeping yet.

Scratching is pretty much the same as peeping, it means the internal pip has been made and they are working on breaking thru the shell, won't be too long now.

Happy dance happy dance! I am so excited I hope everything works out. Fingers crossed.

Don't panic if they are not out tonight, it can take up to 2 days after you start to hear that scratching. Most of mine make the internal pip and then scratch and peck for approx. 24 hrs. before the external pip appears, and then it is usually another 12 -24 until they actually hatch out. Very nerve wracking during all that, I never make any plans as I can't bring myself to leave them.
