A house chicken that is what I have... I sort of hatched a baby chick 6 weeks ago, well she was the only one that made it thanks to a power outage, she hatched in a pasture the day after I tossed all the eggs thinking they were dead, well I was wrong... This is Omega, my lil hen who is no becoming a house chicken, here's my dilemma; she stays in my spare room in a brooder by herself, she picked on my ducks and now my ducks pick on her so she has no friends other than me... I have a hatch pipping and zipping now and I have no idea what to do with her, she is freaking out!!! Any advice lol I have never seen a chicken so upset about growing up and moving out

So cute - she has knobby knees!

Have you tried small little meet and greets with the other residents? Will she tolerate any time at all?
Good luck, keep us posted.

Hmm, I have never noticed her knees

I have but she attacks everyone when they get near me, even if they are bigger than her

I had a similiar situation with a (at the time) 3 week old small EE and 6 week old RIR's and BO's. No matter who it was with, she would attack - puff our her chest, leap at others, etc... I just persisted and had many small meetings and intervened when needed. It took a good 3-5 days but now they are all best buddies. Her new challenge is the large Giant/Polish mix I just got. She tried to introduce herself to the mix in her special agressive way and got tossed across the run.
Needless to say the mix is in quarantine/isolation right now until they all can learn how to play nice together.

no house chicken eh? Well put a collar on her and call her a featherd dog! If that doesn't work, I'm at a loss, good luck with her

I had a chick who ended up alone at about the same age due to a dog attack. What I did was to get on craigslist and find a guy selling chicks of similar age and bought my solo chick just one of his who happened to be from the exact same hatch date and exact same hatchery! Different breed but the two are now inseperable and roost together every night.
