And they are just over 2 weeks old. What are we in for??????? ROFL

Their brooder is covered in half paper towels and half pine shavings so they can play yet I can try to keep changes as easy as possible. I must change the paper towels 3 times a day.

I have never seen anything like it. The amt these 4 little chicks can POO amazes me. How do you with so many more chicks do it??

Just use all shavings & change it every other day.

Chickens (and thus chicks) spend their entire lives dealing with chicken poop. Make it easy on yourself & they really won't mind.

The shavings get stired up enough to stay good for 2 days.

I agree, get rid of the paper towels. Depending upon how big your brooder is you might be able to go a little longer than 2 days until you need to change the shavings. Last year I found it was much easier to keep clean as soon as I got rid of the paper towels.

This year I am going to try wood pellets instead of shavings but I do have a bag of shavings sitting in the garage if I am not happy with the pellets.
