OHio ~ Come on Buckeyes, let me know your out there!

Hello everyone! I have a crockrel who is almost 5 months old and I'm hoping to find him a new home. He is free to a good home. Meet Cluck Norris.

He loves the ladies and often gives them kisses.

He is great with adults. My husband and I have never had an issue. However, he recently side stepped my two year old a few times, and I just can't take a chance on that. Not one to pen up a breed that loves to free range, and want to avoid culling him as he is excellent with adults and his ladies. He rounds everyone up, does a great job at keeping the girls safe, and is quite the gentleman with them. He shows the girls how to make a nest (I witnessed this and it was adorable), shows them good things to eat, and cheers for my pullet who is currently laying. He even stands just inside the door while a pullet is laying to make sure they are safe and comfortable (at least, that's what it seems like he's doing).

Please PM or text if interested. Serious inquiries only please.

Hello Ohio!!

I am located in Hamilton, OH (southwest ohio) and am in search of some purebred hatching eggs for a broody hen...is there anyone locally that can help me out?

Thanks!

I have some silkie eggs, and some Easter eggger eggs. I am no longer hatching this year so I was going to give the silkie eggs to the dog. I’m about an hour from Cincinnati.

Hi there Wingless :) Though we here in Cuyahoga Falls have not yet passed (hopefully soon, though!) our Backyard Chickens proposal, I would suggest checking your local city regulations if you're going to be selling more than a few dozen eggs to friends. If you're selling to the public, you may have to have a permit to sell anything at all.
On one hand, I don't think we should need to have a permit to sell some eggs, but on the other hand, I'd check to make sure that I don't get in trouble for it.
Good luck and keep clucking! :D

Hello Fellow Chicken Lovers, I realize this is an old post, but I didn't know where to start. I just recently bought a home in Cuyahoga Falls, on a zone r-4 (7,000 s.f lot), and I want to own chickens. Any information on the where to find the ordinance or how to get a petition going again? I am trying to search for groups that have perhaps already started this movement and I would like to join in, or if there is none yet, perhaps one can be started?? TIA.

Wow! I tried to look it up online and chased my tail.

Your best bet is to talk to the zoning inspector. I couldn’t even find a name for that person let alone a phone number. Most things online pointed to finding information at City Hall. I’d call City Hall and ask for Zoning Department number.

Usually townships are more lenient then cities or villages. HOAs can override ordinances.
