Wow, it's a cold one this morning..hope everyone is doing well during the start of this New Year. Just finished feeding and bringing water to the flock since I opted to bring fresh water daily in a 5 gallon bucket this year. Normally, I would run 2 100' extension cords to the coop and run a water heater. It's all good since it's a good form of exercise for me..hehe

Those 5 gallon buckets with water sure can get heavy. I have a spigot closer to my pen now which helps but so far I am still able to use the hose. Tonight will be in the teens though and I drain the hose but sometimes ice still gets in it. I have one of those cloth hoses too which I use in a pinch that I keep inside for the really cold days. Occasionally though the spigot freezes up then the bucket comes out.

I agree it is a good workout for sure. I am sure I have more muscles when I do have to carry water to them, lol.

it's a very windy day outside today. had to call utilities up to resend a garbage truck to our place for not picking up ours due to the wind blowing over our cans. told them that if they didn't, I want credit on our bill for services not rendered, but paid for.
