OHio ~ Come on Buckeyes, let me know your out there!

How is everyone holding up in the storms? Tornado in Avon Lake and Parma. No power in my county for awhile now
The winds and heavy downpours have finally slowed down. We have electrical power at the house, but then again, we have a whole-house backup generator. Now to find my trash can since it was garbage day and the winds blew everyone's cans all over the place.

I tend to back up into a parking spot, or pull forward to an open space, if available...but we're talking about Costco, so it's always packed and I just needed to get in quickly. Anyways, back is healing up, but have been using my personal TENS unit to get me by. Also, this weather we are having plays a number on my sciatic nerves. Sucks to be getting old....
They always said getting old isn't for Sissies, that is an understatement, lol.

Gosh, we didn't get anything where I am at. So sorry you folks had such bad weather.

We were Blessed where I am not to have any problems. I pray your power comes back on soon. This heat is so bad, I can't imagine not having my air on.
It just came back on a few mins ago

We have a generator too but not a whole house one. Hope you find your trash cans soon! My sunflowers are all bent over, I really hope they stand back up

Yeah, it was a major investment that we were determined to make based on previous experiences at our previous house. The electricity went out 5 times, and 5 times our basement flooded with over 2 feet of water. So, if anything, it gives us peace of mind during these storms.

All of my tomato plants got blown over, but am hoping they will perk back up.

We have a battery backup sump pump and it kicked on quite a lot today. On Saturday morning, we lost power too. We thought it was the weather again but a semi had knocked down power lines. The battery sump pump did not kick on and that's when we had to rush around and get the generator going. The battery had died in the backup sump pump. Very glad we had the generator to keep our basement dry. Hubby went out later that day to get a new battery for the sump pump

We tried to avoid having a sump pump in our basement, when we recently built our new home, but it was a requirement for the foundation perimeter pipes. I hate them, but what can you do?
