OHio ~ Come on Buckeyes, let me know your out there!

So this is my progress thus far. Still need to secure the shed down so that it doesn't blow away during storms, will tear down my pallet fencing around the existing coops and put a perimeter wired fencing around everything...and last, but not least, build a run from the new shed/coop. Hope this summer stays around for a bit, since I will need alot of time. Afterwards, will need to build housing for the goats and donkey that I am hoping to arrive soon.
Great looking Shed!!!!

I bought a pet gazebo years ago and in order to keep it stable we bought those tent anchors that actually screw into the ground and are really strong. It has kept it in place for years. Sounds like you have a good plan Knobby. Your shed is made a lot better than my cheap dog house for sure.
I'll be using basically the same method as the tent anchors, only that I will be using rebar and cable ties.

Have any of my fellow Ohioans ever had critters eat their hot peppers? My husband has had some kind of animal eat part of his Trinidad scorpion and Pimento peppers... he was so mad because our peppers aren't doing well this year and there was only one on each plant. They didn't look like bug holes, something took big bites and munched down half of each pepper. Never seen ANYTHING willingly eat a scorpion (other than the hubs).

I fence my garden so I don't usually have issues with critters. But I have no idea who would eat hot peppers. Maybe check for a trail of nasty going from your garden to a water source🤣

Ohio has Corn Earworms that can eat a hole in the peppers themselves. That is about the only thing I can think of that would eat them. A Tree Shrew will eat them also but they are not in Ohio, they are in places like China.

How's everyone doing this glorious Tuesday? As for me, I am still trying to recuperate from my minor fender bender while pulling out of a Costco parking space. Pulled out while another person was doing so at the same time and we both bumped into each other. The sudden jolt did a number on my back, but healing up.

On a side note, I had one chick successfully hatch out this morning, with another 2 currently pipping. This is after 25 days, and with me planning on throwing the whole batch away.

Congratulations on your new chicks Knobby. I was so sorry to hear about the fender bender and your back. My husband always thinks it funny because I will always back into a parking space to keep from backing out of one. I have seen what happened to you too many times over in my lifetime. Even if I have to walk farther I refuse to have to back out. I panic when I do because of the vision problems of doing it. I pray that you feel better soon.

I tend to back up into a parking spot, or pull forward to an open space, if available...but we're talking about Costco, so it's always packed and I just needed to get in quickly. Anyways, back is healing up, but have been using my personal TENS unit to get me by. Also, this weather we are having plays a number on my sciatic nerves. Sucks to be getting old....
