I'm getting an order next weekend from Mt healthy of layer chicks, I wish I would have known, could have added them on. Looks like they're sold out for the next few weeks of meat chicks though.
I hope you find some! Have you checked Meyer? They do bin chicks sometimes, I wonder if they'd have any.

Oh, thanks anyway! And that's a great idea. It only takes about 40 mins to get down to Meyer. I know they have bin chicks on Mondays and Tuesdays. I can start calling there. Thank you!

Hello, I am just want to make sure i am understanding the laws for chickens in summit county / west akron. I don't see anything that says no roosters. I don't see a limit of how many. Only thing I can find is that they need to be 100feet away from any lvivng dwelling. Which we have a pretty big size property so that's not an issue.
Please let me know if I am missing anything...

The laws are written in such a strange way!
"Fowl. No person shall keep chickens or other poultry in any dwelling or within one hundred feet thereof." So is this just saying you can't have them inside a house or within 100 feet of one? Even if it's your own house?

Honestly I'd just call city hall and ask. The fact that it doesn't have any other regulations for chicken-keeping written here makes me wonder if this is actually saying you can't keep them. I hope I'm wrong though! Maybe it is fine but just has to be 100 ft. from all houses. Usually I'm just used to seeing a bunch of regulations in these ordinances though, such as how many you can keep, a rule about roosters, etc.

Correct. It is a bit confusing. Summit county did reach out and say that I can keep chickens but to check with the city I live in as well which is technically Akron
. Which summit county has the same regulations

Yeah I'd definitely reach out to Akron to make sure they don't interpret it in a different way or something. Best of luck!

Good morning! I have returned from a long absence. I lost my roo Fester not long ago before he turned 12, i have 1 of his hens still! She's a bit slow but she leads them in and out now.I took time away due to an Apprenticeship and getting busy working overtime in my new position. Hope everyone is well.
