OHio ~ Come on Buckeyes, let me know your out there!

Quote: Hi ash10383! I have their catalog and we've talked about going up there (3 hour drive) but I believe they will only ship pullets. I'm so cheap I hate to pay for shipping within Ohio! LOL It could come to that tho. There is what I think is a Catholic retirement home/chicken breeder in Celina which is quite a bit closer that has 8 week old pullets. We may look into them.

Thanks for the help!

The place you are referring to has been advertising on the Columbus CraigsList lately for Golden Comets and EE's I believe--do a search on the Columbus section (farm & garden-chicken) or "Searchtempest" which does CL searches for whatever distance you want..neat tool!

Quote: They have been all over the Lima and Dayton/Springfield CL too which is where I found them. They have had a lot of different breeds advertised since the beginning of the year so I'm hoping they have more that just what they have listed right now. Plus they are only 40 minutes or so from us.

Didn't know about Searchtempest! That will come in SO handy (Hubs will be thrilled - not!). Thanks!

We just bought one we found on Craigslist from a carpenter in Moraine/West Carrolton area. $280 and it is awesome! We're bringing it home tonight so I'll try to upload some pics tomorrow. Very well made and it would be perfect for 6 and then some. Here's the link if you're interested. http://dayton.craigslist.org/grd/3700693470.html
I got one! Thanks! Did you alter yours at all? I want to add a run and possibly elevate it...I'm afraid it might be too heavy though?

Quote: Oh awesome! Good for you!

Great minds think alike. We did elevate it (onto cinder blocks, 4 on the corners and one in the middle for extra support) then built a run onto it. We have 4 massive Speckled Sussex hens in there right now and there is still room if need be. We had our rooster in there too and he hung out on the roost. He has since flown the coop to be with his RIR girlfriend

We are going to add a water nipple system and pvc pipe feeder this summer which will free up even more floor space.

I am picking up 2 EE pullets from Meyer on the 27th of this month. Driving 2 hours to get them. Have had them ordered for months, as they sell out very quickly. You should probably call them or check their website for current availability.

You can pick up pullets. We live a little over an hour from there and that's where we got our first set of started pullets. You have to call to find out availability.

Hello, I hope you all don't mind me popping in to your Ohio forum. I looking for a fellow that lives in OH that is a or was a breeder of Lavender Ameraucana's and I believe he also bred peafowl. I bought some eggs from him a few years ago but when my computer crashed I lost all of my contact information for him. His first name is Greg and his last name if I remember right is Smith although I could be wrong about his last name. I would appreciate anyone that may know him or how to reach him to PM me or email me. Thank You Much !!
