OHio ~ Come on Buckeyes, let me know your out there!

Just got back to FL today... 75 degrees here after a nice frost on the rental car up there! LOL It is now official.. I am moving to Ohio :) Looking for a place in the Vandalia area, will be moving in December! Excited and terrified both lol

:woot If it weren't for cold Christmases (because Christmas ain't right if it ain't white!), I'd take the 75-degree weather any day LOL. But I'm sure you'll love it here! Prayers your moving process goes smoothly..I know what a headache that can be.

Yep it's panic time in my house! :) Trying to work out the logistics of a 1000 mile move while showing a house without boxes stacked in every corner.... LOL I have a busy time ahead with two boys in school and the hubby still working up till time to move!

New to byc we live in fredericktown started with 6 chickens. 2 rir roosters, leghorn, 2 golden comets a old English Banty hen. Recieved a white silkie rooster from a lady in worthington Ohio. Then purchased 10 Dominique chicks and 2 silver lace hamburgs from Meyers hatchery. Then Recieved 15 silkie chicks for free from a couple in thornville. We also hatched 5 leghorn eggs fertilized by our rir. And 1 golden comet egg fertiled by our rir.

isn't moving hectic? i still havent figure out how to move our flock. i have thought about building a big pen for the hens and just keeping the roosters seperate, but just to pen the roosters is around 70 cages i need.

why couldn't i be addicted to something small and non living, like spools of thread? that would be much easier LOL.

yea Ohio its a great place to be raise a family all that stuff its just to cold now when you are approaching 60 in a couple of years. Also no real family there any more our son moved away our daughter moved to Florida with her daughter our only granddaughter, so it makes sense to be here now my wife is in the middle of chemo from breast cancer so its best to be here where its a lot warmer. i do keep in touch with many friends in Ohio. What part of Ohio are you in?

Thread. :gig It sure would be nice to have become addicted to something a titch more affordable... Oh well!
Stock up on cheap wire cages and transplant that barn so fast the roadrunner would wonder who the heck that was? :p I have no good ideas for going about that either. Moving is such a pain.
We just got out here a year and a bit ago, and DH just dropped one on me today after he went to Chillicothe and spoke with a military recruiter (yeah..not even officially a citizen yet and already joining up..ugh..) and told me he'll probably go with active duty now instead of reserves. Dagnabbit, if they make me move again..! I will NOT live on a base, or in a city at all..! :rant End rant.

Oh hey, if you get anymore spare chicks from the lemon cuckoo Cochin pair (even be it next year), I'd buy more off ya. Lost the second little roo last night to "god-knows-why". Just the pullet (huge! gorgeous! love!) left.

Wow. My EE gal that just started laying gave me 5 good eggs and then decided to strike for the winter I guess lol. If you wouldn't mind trying, I'd love more. :D If you're still hatching, that is. Wouldn't want to inconvenience you. :)
