OHio ~ Come on Buckeyes, let me know your out there!

Hope everyone has a great christmas!

sadly we found something got into out quail cage, so when it gets warmer again i will be on the hunt for some... I need ones that are ready to lay since i don't have much luck with hatching but would like to keep trying

Advice needed, my husbands job site canceled contract so he had to transfer to a lower paying site for now. I know this month we can't afford to buy a bag of chicken feed. We only have 7 hens so they don't eat much, but we are nearing the end of the bag. Any suggestions? I am in North columbus

Sorry everyone, I got lost in the holiday chaos. Hope everyone had a lovely Christmas. My lazy 12 week old coturnix quails finally started laying yesterday. :yesss: And going at it like bunnies so I'm pretty sure on fertility LOL. I plan to see how many I get from them daily (since there's only 2-4 girls), test fertility, and then do a "trial sell/ship". So offer someone free eggs and shipping in exchange for keeping me informed on what condition they arrive in and if they get any to hatch, since I've never shipped eggs before.

on another thread we are getting together and sending a guy in TN some eggs. his flock was poisoned, and we are helping him rebuild it.

if you can pick up a bag of corn, and keep table scraps to them 3-4 times a week they will be ok for now. Rural King did have a bag of feed (40 lbs) for around $9 if that helps any.

Caught a partial story on the news about a fire at the Darke County fairgrounds. Hopefully the old building that the Dayton Fancy Feather Club show is held in every spring in was not involved.

After losing mine I would love some eggs

Yikes, 3 days quiet. Sorry I didn't respond sooner. I know about that situation Brian and would looove to send him eggs. Turns out in lucky to get an egg a day from the quail though and I'd hate to send old eggs.
Stevens, I'll definitely send you some when I can! I've been leaving the light on for them hoping egg production picks up. As soon as I can get enough fresh ones collected up, I'll let you know! I'm testing the few I've got so far now for fertility.
Also...
Happy New Year everyone!!
