OHio ~ Come on Buckeyes, let me know your out there!

Hello from Twinsburg, Ohio.... Have been dabbling in chickens for 2 years now.I have just under two acres and my girls free range over most of it during the day, happy hens. I'm keeping a variety of brown egg layers, and added a half dozen americaunas this spring to add some color to the egg cartons I sell. Would love to find someone w/in northeast Ohio w/ a few black copper maren hens or pullets to sell to add even more great color,. Love all the info on BYC, and the camaraderie of the Ohio folk!!!

Hello and welcome to the thread from Wapakoneta! I do not have marens but I know the EE egg colors well. Good luck with your flock!!

I have a gorgeous Buff Orpington rooster (just shy of 13 weeks old) who needs a good home (preferably in NE Ohio)... one where he will not be eaten. :) He was supposed to be a she but, alas, is not. We can't have roosters in Medina.

Well its four in the morning, yeah I am still awake. Fester started raising Cain n screech owls did too. No big predator I seen but wonder if owls are looking for way in run to try to get into pen. Fence on the run top is too small for owl to pass thru so I suppose I will get out the game camera. Good night all.

I've seen owls and coons, both get birds by grabbing them through the wire when they were freaked out and beserking off the sides or tops, of cages or pens.

I figure owls are investigating ways into run and perching on it. Fester is inside the run in a smaller coop and raised an alarm. So four in the morning gets rather loud with owls screeching and Fester crowing like mad.
On a side note Lurch has found his voice and crows after Fester does. Rather funny sound he makes a tin whistle proud.
