Hi - I live about 1hr east of Columbus and have 8 Rouen ducks that need to be rehomed as soon as possible. (I have to move and am not able to take them.) Does anyone have any ideas who I can contact? Thanks!!

I was so excited to go to the swap today to see if they had ostriches and I drove for over two hours and there was not an ostrich to be seen

Yeah, I spent all day walking around and didn't get anything that I needed either. There were tons of empty vendors spaces. I don't know if people stayed home because they thought things might be too sloppy from all of the rain or if they just didn't do well last fall, but it was definitely a pretty poor showing. I ended up getting some game bantams, polish chicks, and a pretty horrible sunburn, none of which I really want or need. lol

Yes I agree there were tons of spaces open and nowhere near as many birds as I expected to see. But I did get a lot of exercise walking around looking and met a few nice people. An hour east of Columbus would put you somewhere between Newark & Frazeysburg. I'm in Cambridge. I could take them if you want to bring them this way.

Thanks for responding! If I could ask, do you raise ducks for pleasure or for meat? These guys are special to me and I just want to be sure they have a chance to live out their lives in a good home.

I breed them for hatching eggs. The adults will be safe, babies & extra eggs get sold.

I can bring them out next weekend, if Saturday would work. I really appreciate you helping me with this - it is very hard to know I have to leave them, but I am glad that they will have a good home!

That should work. I just moved & am still setting up pens, so that will give me time to get them a pen set up.
