OHio ~ Come on Buckeyes, let me know your out there!

I have a proven trio of blue slate turkeys for sale. 1 of their babies took 3rd at the fair last yr at only 3 months old. He was beat by a 2 yr old

No Silkies?  Not even eggs?  :(

I lost several of my breeders over the winter due to a poorly insulated makeshift coop. The few remaining are currently mixed in with the layers until I finish moving & get my new coop built. I'll be picking up some new breeders at the swap next month so it will be into June before I'll have pure silkie eggs available.

Not if I get there first. :p I actually have a paint roo over black hens atm, but no eggs yet this year. My girls are getting older. I will definitely keep you in mind.

I have blue partridge silkie roo over blue partridge sizzle hen. I usually run mixed color flock, but always have lots of blue in the mix.

That sounds great. I've been getting away from the idea of keeping all of my colors separate myself. I find the thought of surprise colors somewhat intriguing. Some of the most beautiful silkies I have seen were not of recognized color.

I've had show quality birds, but do not show myself. I still mix the colors, but usually put all the blue based together & separate the others.

I've shown the birds in my paint pen, they did quite well. But the rooster (paint) has developed somewhat unsightly leakage in his hackles since his last showing (which was as a pullet, interestingly enough). I had hoped to fix that, but have had a lot of trouble sourcing quality paints locally.

Too funny! Silkies are so hard to sex...lol

There's a little bit of everything there.  Ducks, geese, swans, chickens, ostriches, guineas, peafowl, quail, dogs, cats, goats, horses, parrots the list goes on.  You aren't a poultry junkie until you start asking for chickens/chicken related items for holidays/birthdays...just one more fix, man.

Does anyone know how much the ostrich run for? Are they generally chicks or adults?

I obviously haven't got the hang of the quoting sorry still new. Does anyone know how much the ostrich are and are they generally chicks? Thanks for the reply and I will have to read some more about posting!

I am in Cincinnati and I have 5 chickens. I am looking to get a few chicks to put under my broody hen, but everywhere I look I can't get less than 6. Any suggestions?
