OHio ~ Come on Buckeyes, let me know your out there!

Is anyone familiar with the poultry auction in Rogers Ohio? I was there for the first time this Friday and saw a lot of really beautiful and interesting birds. I even came home with some black austrolorpes and golden seabrights. But I was pretty shocked at the state some of the birds were in. Missing feathers, cuts, and some were filthy. The most surprising thing I saw was five roosters that were all black. Even their combs and wattles. It was a pretty neat experience.

Oooh, possibly cemani?? Gorgeous, gorgeous, expensive birds. Cant say I've heard of the auction, or even the town, though.

N'aw, Oodles of cute!

I'm still up for taking some extra Cochin banties off your hands if need be. ;D DH knows nothing of it, of course lol.

I told hubby about more chicks.... He said "you're killing me" LOL

But he didn't say no! He said if it makes you happy! Yay!

Lucky! Lol. Mine just gets grumpy for a bit so far but I know I'm pushing it. :p

just got our first batch of eggs this week! We are so proud...Trixie popped it out right in front of me!

I feel like im being a bad influence. I am going to keep a few of these chicks, maybe 25-30 total. im selling the rest at less than normal prices, PM me if you want some, i will say the most you will pay is $1.50 a chick with volume discounts starting at 10. my reason for this, this time of year you will probably have a little more loss with chicks; and my feed bill is already well over $100 a week. i really don't need to many more chicks. i pretty well have them sorted large fowl, and bantam. but some breeds look a lot alike, i cant always guarantee what breed but it will be full blood.

I wish I had an incubator... Or even knew how to hatch. All in due time! Then I'll be in trouble!! Lol
My very first time.. none made it!
Second time.. I started out with 25 eggs, 17 went to lock down... only 6 made it out of 9 hatching..
This is my 3rd time.. which I have the whole incubator full to its max! Plus attempting to hatch quail eggs in this one.. (still trying to figure out what I can put them in for their lock down if they start on day 16, not sure how they work yet) So hoping this one goes better. I still have a lot to learn my self.

Though my husband and dad want to kill me for my new found love of chickens and chicks.. I am hoping my mix breed turns out to be a good layer. They are cute little things! I need to update their pictures tomorrow. I think I want more of them too I only had 2 of mine hatch
