OHio ~ Come on Buckeyes, let me know your out there!

Not selling the Marans or Legbars. I'll be hatching those. Will keep the girls and sell the boys. ALL cream Legbars, and the Marans roo are directly from Greenfire.

Cross your fingers! Hope to get new run done if the Bowling Green trip is canceled due to husband's ear issues with noise. I want to go and so does he but ear plugs are not an option and he hasn't found any noise canceling ear muffs. Sad really since he grew up in a NTPA family who ran the sled back in the 80's.

Tell hubby to go to a shooting range for the ear muffs. Or a pilots supply store. Both carry them. The pilot ones usually come with a jack they use for communications. The shooting range ones can usually be tried out first, if they use that model on their own range. The range muffs are better though. Made for louder noise reduction. Different muffs can better than others as well. They are marked for decibels on their labels.
Have fun.

We have shooting ear muffs(several pair actually) and he is dead set to finish the run. So no big tractors again. This caused abit of a heated debate and his butt is going back to a specialist soon to get it sorted out . he can't hear but 10% of the month in his left. has constant ringing that gets louder and gives him a headache from very loud noise. Stubborn man wouldn't deal with it last year after he was injured. So thankful he is still here to drive me to beat my head against a wall.

Sorry to interrupt your conversation. I'm a chicken noob from Marengo in Morrow County. I bought my first chickens this spring. I hope to make some chicken chat buddies.

Welcome Kelfeathers!

where is Marengo exactly?

Welcome Neighbor!
I'm just a little southwest of you in Delaware County (northeast of the city) so we're sorta neighbors, at least in the poultry world :)
Hope you have a bit of room, you won't be stopping with the chicken gathering! It is a fun addiction...I'm up to 42 for now, but four youngsters will be leaving shortly. I can stop anytime I want though, really. :)

Thanks! We go to Delaware all the time so anywhere around that is close enough to be neighbors, I think.

If we get my in-laws' property next summer we'll have four more acres to add to our own acre (they live next door). They also have three storage sheds and a pole barn. I've already made plans to convert two of the sheds into chicken coops and the last will be a roomy dog house. As far as chicken collecting I'm currently waiting for my husband to get home so I can ask for three more chickens. I'm already due to get a silkie or two next spring. The breeder's hens went broody so I had to wait.
