I ended up letting my Momma duck out of the pen with the babies. She would not let them in the gazebo and was huffing at them but not hurting them. She wanted back with the flock. I decided to separate the 4 Mafia Drake Call Ducks as they were piling up on my females to mate them. I was hoping being smaller they would work out better with them but for right now they are in Drake Jail. They seem to not mind it though so hopefully this will bring peace to my 9 Hens.

I also live in Twinsburg. we are trying to be discreet with our coop and have a fenced in backyard. We have 3 hens. I’m worried a neighbor will complain out of spite. Do you know of any way around Twinsburg regulations on chickens? Someone mentioned the Ohio Farmers Act but that doesn’t seem to apply.

I was sooooo Blessed. My Runner Ducklings are both females as they are both quacking their heads off now at 6 weeks. I thought for sure the one was a boy because while in my living room it whistled a few times. I have never had a female duckling whistle before in all of ducklings I have ever raised. They all turned out to be males. I thought for sure I had one of each but they sound exactly alike and when I pick them up or get close to them they quack their heads off. I am so happy not to have to rehome either of them.

Of course, you know if they were drakes they would be whistling at the hens. :gig that's good news. ❤️
 
I have a few drakes I am going to keep, haven't done a head count yet but I will soon. The mother duck I put the ducklings with sure loves the babies. Don't dare try to pick one up, she will come a quacking at you. :lol:
