OHio ~ Come on Buckeyes, let me know your out there!

We only got a few snow flurries and that was enough for me for sure. It is only 21 out though but will be 50 something by Friday, Only in OHIO, lol.
We ended up with just a light dusting. Oh well, the first snowfall makes everyone crazy

I'm trying to talk my husband into ducks, he's not having it 🤣 he barely tolerates the chickens
We don't regret adding 6 Pekin ducks to our flock of 12 chickens. They've actually been more productive in laying eggs, than the chickens, especially since it's gotten into the colder season. Alittle more work, and eat more than the chickens, but well worth it.

I am still getting at least 2 eggs a day out of my Ducks and sometimes even 5. My Muscovy is still laying and so is one of my new Runner Ducks I got in May. I love my Ducks, mess and all.

We've been getting, consistently, 4 eggs from our ducks. The wife and I are considering just raising ducks, but then again, we have about a dozen chickens eggs in the incubator at this moment..hehe.

My Hubby grew up working in a Chicken factory and can't stand the smell of them anymore so they are off limits for me, lol.

How do you keep them warm and where this time of year when they hatch out this late. I had 2 ducklings I bought in February and they lived in my living room for 6 weeks. That was a lot of work to keep the smell down. I won't do that again, lol.

I actually have them in the coop/run that I had setup originally for the chickens. I placed a large tarp over it to give them ample dry space areas and to keep their feed dry. They seem managing the current weather just fine. As for the hatchlings. we setup a brooder section in the basement to keep everyone nice and warm until they feather out and spring arrives.

That sounds like a great idea for a good setup. I hope they all hatch out or you.
