Hello all. I was asked to join this thread since I reside in Ohio.
In March I just had to have a big piece of the middle of my forehead taken out from wonderful Mr. Sun. Now I have to wear a hat when I am out. Not to preach but be careful with those sunburns, they might catch you some day.Today was a scorcher! Did almost 300 miles on the trike and got sunburnt red.
Mine all seem to be doing well so far. Lots of water and they are panting but still doing well. Hopefully Sunday will be cooler and we will be done with this for now. I hope yours are all doing well. I have listed my 3 drakes on CL but no response. I bought a single duckling for a duckling that I rescued that needed a friend and they are both doing well. One is a female for sure and I am praying that the chocolate runner duckling is also. I figured we were going to get hit hard this summer after that mild winter that we had. How's everyone, and their flocks, doing with this current heatwave? Hope everyone is able to keep hydrated, cool, and providing enough water to their flocks.
Doing pretty well, except for one of my hens who has been on the decline for months now. She's an old lady and isn't taking the heat well. Her time may be coming soon unfortunately. We've known this for a while, but it's still sad! Everyone else is doing well. I've been giving them some cold watermelon as a hydrating treat and they love it.How's everyone, and their flocks, doing with this current heatwave? Fuzz and Pokie are doing well, although I've been keeping them isolated in the coolness of my garage with Lucy and Lady. I wanted to wait until it cooled down a bit prior to me introducing them to the rest of the flock. I've been bringing chilled cucumbers to try and keep everyone cooled down and hydrated.Doing pretty well, except for one of my hens who has been on the decline for months now. How is your flock, including Ursula's babies? I would try to be nice and say she misses them but she has now completely forgotten about them and is back to laying eggs and pestering me for treats at any chance she gets.![]()

I hope your drakes find a forever home soon. If we were closer, I'd take them.Mine all seem to be doing well so far. Lots of water and they are panting but still doing well. I'm trying to figure out if it'd be beneficial for us to run a pump to one of our ponds and a line to our coops, since I've been filling up (5) five gallon buckets 3 times a day and hauling them to the coop using the bucket of my tractor. My flock is doing ok.
